AACO President


Mr. Yumin Yin is the President of the Board of Westlake Chinese Culture Association (WCCA) in Cleveland, Ohio, and a board director of Ohio Chinese American Association (OCAA). He was the principal of WCCA during the 2007-2008 and 2012-2015 school years. Mr. Yin has been an active leader of the Chinese community in Greater Cleveland since 2006, and has worked diligently to promote intercultural exchanges, raise awareness of the Chinese culture, and help deliver quality Chinese language education to local communities. He has also been working with other Asian American leaders in Ohio to advocate healthy diet and active living in local communities.
As a co-founder and board director of AACO and OCAA since 2016, Mr. Yin led the efforts to build a solid non-profit, non-partisan organization representing the Ohio Chinese American community, advocate civil engagement and voter education, and support Chinese Americans in social justice. Mr. Yin was the communications chair during the Sherry Chen MSPB hearing rally event and led a successful social media campaign to raise awareness of Ms. Chen’s case and mobilize communities in Ohio to turn out in rallies and in court to support Ms. Chen.
Since 2017, Mr. Yin serves as AACO President to lead the effort to empower Asian and Pacific Islander Americans through education, leadership and active participation in civic and public affairs both nationally and locally in Ohio. He is also actively involved in the youth leadership program in Ohio.
