Community Town Hall

Join us for an open forum where every voice matters, and we work together to make positive change.

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, Asian American Coalition of Ohio (AACO) will partner with Asian Culture and Education USA (ACAESUSA), Justice for Ohio (JFO) and Ohio Chinese American Association (OCAA) to host a community town hall to discuss issues that matter to our community. We'll also help community members check their voter registration status ahead of the Ohio's voter registration deadline (October 5).

Our featured guests are State Representative Munira Abdullahi (Ohio House District 9) and State Representative Anita Somani (Ohio House District 8). They will provide updates on legislative activity at theOhio Statehouse, listen to community concerns, and gather public feedback. Over the past two years, both representatives have been strong allies in our community's efforts to oppose the anti-immigrant property bills HB 1 and SB 88.

This free community event is open to everyone.

Rep. Munira Abdullahi (HD-9) is a first-generation Somali immigrant, and the first Somali woman to serve in the Ohio Legislature.

Rep. Anita Somani (HD-8) is a first-generation immigrant from India, a OBGYN physician with over 30 years experience, and the first Asian American women elected to the Ohio House of Representatives.
